James Bishop is now the proud author of two children’s picture books inspired by the adventures he shares with his daughter, Josie. His first book, My Daddy Rides a Motorbike, began when Josie sat on his motorcycle at just seven months old. A photograph of that moment became the spark for a story, which James developed during the coronavirus pandemic with the help of illustrator and friend Steve Coles. What started as a personal Christmas present for Josie quickly grew into a published book that found an audience among families and motorbike enthusiasts alike.
James’s second book, What If the World Were Different, Daddy?, celebrates curiosity, imagination, and the playful bond between parent and child. Inspired by the endless “what if” questions Josie asks, the story invites children and parents alike to imagine silly, thoughtful, and sometimes heartwarming possibilities together.
Whether it’s motorbikes or make-believe worlds, James’s books capture the joy of family life and the magic of seeing the world through a child’s eyes.
Ride safe little ones!
